Hey, I'm Brenna!

I’m a Registered Dietitian and Founder of The Wellful LLC. I’m a native New Yorker and have traveled and lived in NYC, Boston, Italy and Bermuda. My practice is 100% virtual which means I can work with you, wherever you are!

I got into nutrition after needing to adopt a gluten-free diet in high school and meeting with a Registered Dietitian. After writing for food magazines and working for startup food companies in college, I realized that so many of the majority of what we learn about food and health comes from food marketing and the media - and how confusing and conflicting these messages can be.

I decided to combine my passions in writing, marketing and wellness to become a registered dietitian to help make nutrition less confusing and help people have a more positive, mindful relationship with food.

In addition to working with clients 1:1 I write about food, intuitive eating, mindfulness & wellness and have been published in POPSUGAR, My Life OOO, Boston Voyager and Spoon University. I help food, beverage and grocery startups solidify their nutrition & wellness messaging and brand strategy. To highlight the women changing the food and wellness landscape, I host the bi-weekly Wellful’s Women in Wellness Podcast talking about unconventional careers and paths in health.

 

My nutrition philosophy:

When it comes to nutrition, I’m a firm believer in 3 things: that we can feel our best without feeling obsessed, our relationship with food and our body is as important as what we put into our body, and that nutrition doesn’t need to be confusing or complicated. With so many diet messages available to us, we hear a lot about the specifics of food, but rarely give enough credit to the importance of having a healthy relationship with food to put that information to use in a healthful way.

 

Brenna O’Malley, RD is a registered dietitian and founder of the mindful health website, The Wellful. Brenna specializes in helping people move away from dieting and disordered eating patterns to  develop a healthy relationship with food and their body. She is passionate about changing the language we use to talk about nutrition & health in the media, online and in food marketing. Brenna uses a non-diet, mindful approach to nutrition and health and believes that the ‘why’ we eat is just as important as the ‘what’ we eat.  Brenna practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES R) perspective and truly believes that all foods can fit in healthy diet. Brenna started the The Wellful’s Women in Wellness Podcast where she features female entrepreneurs who are changing the food, health and wellness landscape. She consults for food and media companies and her writing has been featured in POPSUGAR, Boston Voyager, My Life OOO and Spoon University. Brenna loves to travel, explore new coffee shops, try fun workout classes and there’s no food she won’t try, at least once!

Brenna completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University and completed her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital with a concentration in media and intuitive eating.
